Drug-Free Home Policy

Sheila’s House is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and drug-free environment for all residents. The use, possession, sale, or distribution of illegal drugs, alcohol, or controlled substances is strictly prohibited on the property.
Residents are expected to remain substance-free and avoid any behavior that may negatively affect the safety or recovery of others in the home. Violation of this policy may result in immediate disciplinary action or removal from the program.

Respect & Safety Rules

All residents are expected to treat staff, guests, and fellow residents with dignity and respect at all times.

To maintain a peaceful and supportive environment:

Threats, intimidation, or violent behavior will not be tolerated

Verbal, physical, or sexual harassment is prohibited

Residents must follow staff instructions and house guidelines

Respect for personal space, property, and privacy is required

Quiet hours and curfew policies must be followed

Our goal is to create a home environment built on safety, accountability, and mutual respect.

Cleanliness Expectations

Residents are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized living space.

This includes:

Keeping personal sleeping areas neat and sanitary

Cleaning up after themselves in common areas

Participating in assigned chores and household responsibilities

Respecting house furniture, appliances, and property

Excessive damage to the home or failure to maintain cleanliness may result in disciplinary action.

Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited at Sheila’s House:

Drug or alcohol use

Possession of weapons

Fighting or violent conduct

Verbal or physical abuse

Sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior

Threats or intimidation

Theft or destruction of property

Nudity or indecent exposure

Disruptive or unsafe behavior

Illegal activity of any kind

Any actions that threaten the safety, peace, or well-being of the home may result in removal from the program.

Resident Responsibilities

Residents are expected to:

Follow all house rules and program guidelines

Maintain respectful behavior

Keep living areas clean

Attend required meetings or appointments

Work toward employment, education, or stability goals

Communicate honestly with staff

Participate in personal growth and independence goals

Residents are encouraged to contribute to a positive and supportive environment for everyone in the home.

Grounds for Removal

Residents may be involuntarily removed from Sheila’s House for:

Drug or alcohol use

Violent or threatening behavior

Repeated rule violations

Possession of weapons

Failure to comply with program requirements

Harassment or unsafe conduct toward others

Any behavior that places residents or staff at risk

Theft or property destruction

These policies are in place to protect the safety, recovery, and well-being of everyone living in the home.
